KonekOS - a commercial operating system

Proof we build at any scale. KonekOS is a full Linux-based operating system we designed and built from the ground up for coin-operated Wi-Fi operators: a custom desktop, hardware management, an encrypted device-bound licensing engine, over-the-air updates and 15+ languages. It runs on real hardware, serving paying operators, today.

The problem

Off-the-shelf software couldn't run this business

A commercial operation on real hardware, in the field, needs more than a consumer operating system can give it.

Consumer OSes aren't built for this

A stock desktop operating system assumes a person at a keyboard, not an unattended commercial machine that has to boot, run and recover on its own.

The field isn't always online

Sites drop offline for hours at a time. Anything that needs a live connection to check in or unlock simply stops earning when the link goes down.

Licences that could be copied

A commercial product needs licensing that can't just be cloned to the next machine. Without it, every sale is one copy-paste away from being given away.

What we built

A whole operating system, tuned for the job

Not an app on top of someone else's platform - the platform itself, owned end to end.

A custom Linux desktop

A purpose-built desktop and hardware-management layer on a Linux base - boots straight into the job, recovers on its own, and hides the complexity from the operator.

Encrypted device-bound licensing

An offline licensing engine that ties each licence to its own hardware, so it can't be copied to another machine - and keeps working with no connection at all.

Over-the-air updates

Improvements and fixes ship silently to machines in the field, with no site visit and no operator involvement. The fleet stays current on its own.

15+ languages out of the box

Localised from the start so operators in different markets can run it in their own language, without a separate build for each region.

Why we built it this way

The engineering choices behind a product that has to run itself.

Build on Linux, own the whole stack

Starting from Linux meant we could control everything from boot to desktop, with no licence fees stacked underneath and no vendor able to change the rules on us.

Offline-first, device-bound by design

Licensing and core features work with no connection and are tied to the hardware, so a machine keeps earning through an outage and a licence can't wander to another box.

Ship improvements without a technician

Over-the-air updates mean a fix reaches every machine at once, with no truck roll - so the product gets better over time without touching a single site.
